OC Remote

Guide

Approve AI agent permissions on your phone

The agent pauses when it needs a person. OC Remote Pro is how you answer without walking back to the desk.

OpenCode can stop in the middle of a task because a tool needs permission, a question needs an answer, or you simply want the run to end. That pause is the point of a human in the loop. OC Remote Pro puts the same decision on iPhone or iPad: approve the permission, answer a structured form, send the next prompt, manage queued work, or stop the run.

The app does not change your server’s permission policy. It is a client for the OpenCode server you already configured. If the server would have asked at the desk, it can ask on the phone.

Have the connection ready

A permission you cannot see is still waiting on the server. Pair with stable V2, or connect manually to a supported classic V1 endpoint. HTTPS is preferred, private LAN and Tailscale HTTP routes are supported, and saved credentials live in the iOS Keychain. If the app is not connected yet, start with the connection guide.

Read the prompt, then decide

On the waiting session you can:

  • Approve the permission once, or choose Always Allow when you trust the rule.
  • Answer classic questions or typed V2 forms with required and conditional fields.
  • Send a different prompt if the plan should change.
  • Steer, queue, or cancel pending V2 work when the server supports it.
  • Stop the run.

Look at the tool call and the task list before you approve. Token usage and session spend are on the same timeline if you want a sense of what the run has already cost.

Always Allow rules are not permanent mysteries: OC Remote can list saved permissions so you can review and revoke them later.

Inspect before you continue

After the agent writes files, review the changed files and the diff, or browse the project. Then continue or retry. Revert, unrevert, and fork are available when you want to undo or branch that result instead of accepting it.

Pro also includes an interactive project terminal if you would rather run something yourself. MCP servers can be connected and managed from the phone, including supported authentication flows. None of that replaces reading the diff.

A working rhythm

Start the session where you like to think, on the machine running OpenCode. Leave. When you have a minute, open OC Remote, see whether the agent is still working or waiting, and make the call. Dictation can fill the next prompt: audio is transcribed on the device and is not uploaded for transcription. The text is sent only if you submit it.

The longer setup, from install to the first session, is in how to use OpenCode from your iPhone.
