What is OC Remote?

OC Remote is an independent iPhone and iPad client for OpenCode. It connects directly to a server you configure so you can monitor projects, sessions, files, and diffs, then use Pro controls when an agent needs your input.

Monitoring is free: browse projects and sessions, follow timelines, and inspect files and diffs. Pro is required to create sessions, send prompts, answer questions, approve permissions, manage queued work, use terminals, manage MCP or providers, and use on-device dictation.

New purchases use an annual auto-renewable subscription. Eligible new subscribers can start with a 7-day free trial, then the euro storefront price is €5.99 per year; local App Store pricing may vary. Existing monthly subscribers keep Pro while that subscription remains active, and qualifying early customers retain their existing access.

Is OC Remote an OpenCode mobile client?

Yes. It is a remote client for the OpenCode server you run. It is not a hosted OpenCode account, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenCode or Anomaly Innovations, Inc.

Which OpenCode versions are supported?

OC Remote has separate integrations for stable OpenCode V2 and classic V1. The current compatibility baseline is stable V2 2.0.29, with a live smoke pass on 2.0.31, plus the classic V1 1.18.29 adapter. OpenCode's V2 HTTP API is still experimental, so future releases can require app updates. Legacy V2 beta contracts are not supported.

How do I connect OC Remote to my server?

For stable V2, run opencode service start and opencode pair, then scan the one-time QR code or paste its link in Settings → Connection. Pairing links work once and expire after five minutes. Manual URL, username, password, and pairing-token connections remain available; saved credentials are protected in the iOS Keychain.

Can I approve AI agent permissions from my iPhone?

Yes, with Pro. You can answer structured questions, approve a permission once or always, send the next prompt, manage queued work, or stop a run. Saved Always Allow rules can also be reviewed and revoked.

What can I see in a live session?

The free monitoring experience includes live timelines, messages, tool calls, task lists, token usage, context, session spend, and agent results.

Can I review code changes on my phone?

Yes. File browsing and line-by-line diff review are free. Pro adds control actions such as continue, retry, revert, unrevert, and fork.

Does OC Remote include a terminal and MCP?

Yes. Pro includes interactive project PTY terminals plus project and global MCP management, including supported authentication flows.

Can I switch models from the phone?

Yes, with Pro controls. You can connect supported provider methods, choose server-defined primary agents, switch models, and tune model variants or thinking effort when the server exposes them.

Is dictation private?

Accepted Answer

Pro dictation uses WhisperKit to transcribe temporary microphone audio on your device, even offline after the model is downloaded. Audio is not uploaded for transcription. The resulting text reaches your OpenCode server only if you submit it. Downloading the speech model contacts the model host used by WhisperKit.

Does the app include ads or analytics SDKs?

No. The iOS app does not include advertising or general-purpose analytics SDKs. Apple processes App Store purchases, and OC Remote uses StoreKit 2 to load products and determine Pro entitlement status.

Question 14

Do remote connections require HTTPS?

Accepted Answer

HTTPS is preferred because it encrypts credentials, prompts, attachments, and session data in transit. OC Remote also accepts direct HTTP for loopback, private-network, link-local, and Tailscale addresses. Cleartext public hosts are rejected. Put TLS or a trusted tunnel in front of any publicly reachable server.

Where does my code go?

Messages, commands, attachments, credentials, project details, and session data travel between the app and the OpenCode server URL you configure. That server, and any AI providers or OAuth services connected to it, process data under their own policies.

Can I attach a photo?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when sending a Pro prompt. The app can use the camera to capture a photo, and the system photo picker can provide selected images without granting broad photo-library access.

Which devices are supported?
